2015 10th Annual Provincial Conference

This past May we held our 10th Annual General Meeting and Child and Youth Care Conference.  We were honoured with Dr. Lorraine Fox for our keynote speaker.  She captivated the participants with her words of wisdom, her research, her shared experiences and her knowledge on trauma, secondary trauma, self-care and supervision skills.  There was laughter, there were tears and there was a lot of discussion as participants connected with Dr. Fox’s sessions.

We also had a number of great workshops offered from our community organizations.  Some of these included; Mindfulness, Mental Health First Aid, Self-Esteem, Positive Behavioral Supports and Interventions, Understanding and Dealing with Stress and How Change and Stress can lead to Mental Health Issues and Physical Containment: Principles, Strengths and Weaknesses.
The Child and Youth Care Association would like to talk the many volunteers that helped out before, during and after the conference.  Our conferences could not happen without those who dedicate their time and energy to making sure we have successful events.  Thank you!
