A Message From the CYCA NL President
I am honored to extend my warmest greetings to you all as we celebrate Child and Youth Care Week. This special week is an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions that Child and Youth Care Professionals make to the lives of young people across the country.
As President of the Child and Youth Care Association, I am proud to be part of a community that is dedicated to promoting the wellbeing and positive development of children and youth. Through our collective efforts, we are helping to create safe and nurturing environments where young people can thrive, reach their full potential and hopefully create a caring and more just society for all.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude and admiration to all Child and Youth Care Professionals for your unwavering commitment to supporting and empowering young people during these difficult times, when everything happening in society seemingly being unprecedented and the glimmers of light sometimes seem to get overshadowed, your dedication, passion, and hard work are truly inspiring, and I am deeply grateful for everything that you do.
Please take time to realize that our work exists in spaces inhabited by many societal and social problems, but the fact that these issues seem to persist does not mean we have failed. It's quite the opposite, despite the challenges, despite the hardships, despite the enduring negative legacies, you have created a safe harbor for these children and youth, to grow, learn and attach. You have made the world a better place, you have given your strength in a time when another needed it, and for that you deserve the highest form of thanks and honor we can give.
On behalf of the Child and Youth Care Association, I wish you all a happy and fulfilling Child and Youth Care Week. Let us continue to work together to make a positive difference in the lives of young people, and to build a brighter future for generations to come.
